Restoration

Galatians 6:1
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault,

Ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness;

Considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

2. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

     Most of you heard recently how a preacher led many astray by teaching that the end of the world would come on a certain day. Most of you study your bible and know that no one knows the day or the hour when our Lord returns but we know He is coming.

     After hearing all this I began to wonder how the people felt that got carried away with this doctrine and what they must be feeling now. I've heard many jokes about them and heard people put them down but it made me wonder just how many falsehoods I believe? None of us know all the truth yet even though all the truth exists right inside us in our own re-born spirits.

     Jesus said that when the Spirit of Truth comes He will lead you and guide you into all truth and show you things to come. That can be found in John chapter 16. So that tells me we don't have all the answers and have to be taught. Truth isn't just formulas and scriptures taken out of context, it's revelation of those scriptures by the Holy Spirit. That's why so many strange doctrines come into the church.

     Maybe this would be a great time to ask our Father to search our lives and reveal how many falsehoods are misleading us. When He does I'll get this giant beam out of my eye and come help you get that little speck of dust out of yours. So I urge all who read this to be gentle with one another and like the scripture says, restore those who are in faults.

     For those of you who got caught up in this or any other false teaching we urge you to repent and forgive yourself and ask our Father to restore you to the truth. We all are capable of falling so don't be so hard on yourself. There is always forgiveness and mercy and His grace really is sufficient for you.

     Just remember when looking at end times or any other doctrine to look through the eyes of God's mercy and not judgment. God is not out to destroy but to save. Most of the judgment people are expecting to see poured out on the world was already poured out on the cross. People are too quick to judge themselves righteous and others deserving of judgment. I have even heard Christians say they can’t wait to be taken out of here so God’s wrath can be poured out on the people left behind. How sad it that? We should be walking in much more love than that. Remember God is long suffering and patient with them just as He is with us. We should walk in love and leave all judgment to God who is full of mercy.

     Here is a key. If you really love your neighbor as yourself how could you ever want to leave while there are those who need saving? Check out early and let others suffer? It sounds kind of selfish doesn't it? Here's an idea: How about we love everyone and restore those who are fallen? That's what Jesus did for all of us. When we were yet sinners he loved us and gave himself for us. Shouldn't we do the same for others?

So if you have been in error just turn around and let God restore you to where you belong. Don't be discouraged. We have all fallen many times and we are all still doomed if not for his grace. Thank God for his wonderful grace who came in person in a man called Jesus.

I hope you find encouragement in these words.

Until next time,

Grow rich in His grace,

I love you all,

michael
